中国镖局博物馆是目前全国最大的一家全面展示镖局历史文化的博物馆.总占地面积1700多平方米，全馆共由五进院落十一个展室组成。镖局是我国现代保安公司的前身，主管异地货物押运，异地银两兑换，收寄信件等业务。中国最早的镖局出现于清乾隆年间，是由山西人神拳张黑五创办的兴隆镖局，此后，随着中国商业经济的发展，各家镖局相继成立，为中国近代商业发展及社会稳定，做出了很大的贡献。清朝灭亡后，镖局被现代警察机构及保安组织逐渐取代，淡出了历史的舞台。中国镖局博物馆以详实，丰富的实物资料，全面的讲述了镖局这一行特殊行业的产生，经营管理以及发展的历史过程，揭示了镖局在中国封建社会后期对商品流通流通领域做出的特殊贡献.

Standing in the middle of South Avenue in the Ancient Town of Pingyao,the east-faced Chinese Biaoju(establishment in ancient China which provides escorts for a fee) Museum covers an area of more than 1700 square meters. The T-shaped architecture consists of five courtyards and 11 galleries, displaying items escorts used to rely on, including weapons, vehicles and boxes. The museum provides full and accurate material data to objectively introduce the history of this special sector of Biaoju, including its generation, management, organization and operation. All these materials are showing the special contribution of Biaoju to commodity circulation in the late period of Chinese feudal history. As the international training base of Xing Yi Quan (one of the Wudang styles of Chinese martial arts) now, Chinese Biaoju Museum is a precious cultural landscape in the town.
